Finally! Bir from above. It's not so easy. You need to fill out a form, stating that you will not fly above the Dalei Lamas residence and the military areas, further that you take responsibility and will take all costs of eventual rescue (though there will be NO helicopter) and that will not sue the government in case of accident. Then you need a Photocopy of your passport, your flying license (though there is no such thing as a license in India) , your insurance and two photos. And of course some money. And this every week. Sounds complicated.
Still, the peple are really nice and trying to help. And the landscape is just incredible. Yesterday we almost reached 3000m, which seems like nothing in comparison to the huge mountains at which faces we are flying here. They say that you can reach 5000m here and I do believe that.
Today we are stranded due to bad weather. But it gave us time to organize a second cellphone and hopefully we will soon get our permission to go Cross Country. Though the thermals are relatively weak, we hope to be able to make some smaller XC Flights to Dharamsala and Manali.
Until then stay tuned.
